I've been trying out  the Wavestate Native demo recently although I haven't delved too far into yet as there's a lot to take in. Does anyone here have it?

Is the Wavestate an updated Wavestation? One of the examples sound bytes, Ski Jam 2, is straight off the Wavestation.

And no KORG Collection 5 crossgrade deal from individual KORG Collection instruments like they had this summer.

Do they know it’s Black November time at all?

You Korg account probably has a coupon. I had one, I think for the same amound as in the summer, but for some reason, it doesn't work when I try to add it to my cart. It was just added (I checked yesterday and there were no offers), so maybe they have to fix something.

Indeed, there was a coupon code in my account. Maybe I didn't see it yesterday because it was found under Account Information, and not the default Account Dashboard. But just as you say, when applied to the shopping cart there was an error message saying it wasn't valid. According to the promo text next to the code, though, it should be:

Quote

KORG Collection 5 Upgrade/Crossgrade offer.

To celebrate the release of KORG Collection 5, we have a special offer for those who own KORG Gadget, wavestate, opsix, modwave, or individual KORG Collection plugins. You can get an additional discount of up to $150 off the current sale price of KORG Collection 5. This offer is available until November 30th.

Still doesn’t work for me. Logging in through Korg ID, fetching the code from "Offers from Korg", but no.

But I was mostly interested to see if the price for me was still $199, having two Korg Collection instruments. It probably would be. At $99 it would be an instabuy, at $149 I might give it a serious thought, but at $199 it would simply be too much.

My price is still $199, way too much.

Same happens here. I go to https://id.korg.com/users/codes which gives me a coupon and says it will be $150 off like you mentioned. There's a buy button, so I do that and add it to the cart but the coupon says invalid like a few others here. So weird that it worked for @Sergio but ours aren't working.

Harder sell at the moment when Arturia has their sale on.. I bought the entire V Collection X for $99.

They also don't seem to discount the full bundle much.. it probably costs them a lot of sales, but they stick to their pricing.

Indeed they do, been waiting 2 (or is it 4 or more?) years for a better price.
But it's Ok; while I'd like to complete the set - I have numerous other plugins that I'm not using either 🤣
Thank you GAS and FOMO!

I've come to realize that Plugins are the NFTs of musician's world, they differ in that

  • with plugins you don't need BitCoin to purchase your work of digital art
  • NFT's don't require constant maintenance such as upgrading
  • no one (as far as I know) has tried to turn an NFT into a subscription service
  • software becomes obsolete, don't think that applies to NFTs...

*Note - this is not a comment/discussion on Bandlab or Sonar so please don't turn it into one - go whine somewhere else.

Hard to say what’s right; high margins, few sales, or low margins, many sales. Well, the latter has worked pretty well for companies such as IKEA, so why not KORG? After all, they both have four-letter company names spelled in capital letters.

My coupon is for the upgrade from Collection 4 (that I own) to Collection 5.

I'll get this promo. The Arturia sale is also great but I'm at V Collection 9 and also have all their other interesting synths released after that IMO: Pigments, MiniFreak V and Minibrute V,  except Synthx V, that is not included in the V Collection X anyway. I'd rather get the latest (and greatest) Arp 2600 emulation from Korg now and wait for the V Collection XI.
