Music Production Suite 6.5 upgrade $104 from any version

I'm not sure it's worth it.  You get some reverbs that are still tied to iLok.  The throws it off since I have Izotope software on 3 machines.

Plus the NI stuff makes it less enticing since most of us have Driver.  Guitar Rig, no thanks since it will be in the Komplete upgrade.

Other than the fancy EQs it's just repetition of what we already have.

I'm scratching my chin about this one, especially if there's a GROUP discount at JRRShop.

Wouldn't mind having a couple more licenses for Stratus/Symphony to use on my laptop. Other than that it would increment my RX and Ozone to 11, no idea if that's a worthy upgrade.

Those aren't really going to ever be upgraded.  

If they threw in their 2 new plugins I'd go for it.

Having bundles with other developers products (NI,PA) seem to be more of a turnoff for me, It's like a pricey Humble Bundle deal.

Do you mean RX and Ozone or Stratus and Symphony won't be upgraded? I don't really need the reverbs to be upgraded (aside from maintenance updates).

As for Ozone and RX, aren't those kinda their flagship products? How could they not upgrade them?

Also, which 2 new plug-ins are they leaving out? The new Trash maybe? Which other one?

It does seem kinda weird to leave Trash out of something called "Music Production Suite."

Music Production Suite 6.5 upgrade from 6.0 is $69.65 under Loyalty offers.
One difference between 6.0 & 6.5 is getting RX Standard 10 upgraded to 11.
Still that's cheaper than the regular upgrade price of RX Standard 10 to 11 which looks like it runs $190+

Ya, this is a no brainer. Also on MPS 3. Been hesitating on upgrading since there's now crossover between Komplete CE and also have Plugin Alliance sub, and also got some v11 elements stuff for free. But that's $88 bucks to upgrade RX from 7 to 11, and Ozone 9 Advanced to 11. Very reasonable imo.

But it kinda sucks having so many duplicates of various plugins. They really should offer additional "loyalty" products to people who are inside all 3 ecosystems - for example Komplete CE should come with Ozone advanced (instead of Standard) if you already have advanced Izotope products or a PA subscription. But clearly I'm still giving them money, so what do I know. lol

At least on my laptop, where space is of great concern, I will simply skip some of the things I got with MPS 6.5. All reverbs will stay seated in my iZotope and/or iLok account, and I don’t intend to install the NI Effects Collection (duplicates) or anything from Brainworx (mostly duplicates). After having updated Neutron, Ozone, Nectar, and RX11, I think I lost around 11GB.

The jury is still out when it comes to Guitar Rig 7 Pro, but if I first uninstall Guitar Rig 5, I doubt that would cause a space problem.

It's a nice price and I was slightly tempted. Would've gotten me from Ozone 9 to Ozone 11, and newer versions of Nectar and Neutron (from 3 to 4), plus some other stuff I don't care about or use.

But I decided using slightly older versions of Ozone, Nectar, and Neutron wasn't the thing keeping me from Making It Big, so I passed on them as unnecessary.

I bit on this one to upgrade from a previous version of MPS and it cost me around £85. JRR shop with GROUP did include tax on top and was very slightly less than Izotope direct using  ROCK10.

Didn't realize that Ozone no longer has a standalone application after V9 so thought 11 hadn't installed correctly so now have to use it inside the DAW

Some nice new features both in Ozone and RX which persuaded me plus New versions of Nectar and Neutron

Not sure I will use the rest of the bundle though

I was skeptical about Neoverb, and it does display iZotope's usual cavalier attitude toward resource usage, but when I tried it it really does sound good.

Not getting Aurora and Plasma licenses is a drag, but Logic's continued inability to support VST is a shortcoming of Logic.

Speaking of which, when reviewers list pros and cons of DAW software, I seldom see Logic's inadequacy in this regard mentioned. Sometimes they list "Mac only," but I don't think I've ever seen a review mention its lack of VST support a a "con." Which it is, in at least two senses of the word.

I upgraded from JRR 5.2 to 6.5 for $88.

And I resold the serials of Guitar Rig 7, Ni Plugin, Bx Bundle, and Melodyne that I already had.

In the end, it's like upgrading to 6.5 for $23.

If I didn't sell it cheap, I could have made more than $20.

I'm wondering if I should hold out for MPS 7 when it's around the same price.  Figure they'll add the "Catalyst" series - Aurora, Plasma and the coming delay plugin - along with Neutron 5 which is in the works too.  MPS4 is still working for me on Sonoma and not upgrading to Sequoia anytime soon.
