Bass vst plugin to use with Cakewalk

Hi all. I'm recording a song, i record the guitar, the drummer the track of drum, the singer the voice. I would need to play by myself also the bass. I've thought to make it with a Vst plugin(playing with midi key or just writing on piano roll doesn't mind), i would need a free Bass simulator. I just need a standard bass(electric bass) sound, i don't need advanced sounds or effects. Does anybody could tell me one? Thanks in advance.

I guess the obvious answer would be SI-Bass Guitar. It comes free with CbB, although it requires a separate installation, being part of the Studio Instruments bundle.

IK Multimedia has a free version of MODO BASS 2 CS that can be useful. It only comes with one bass model and isn't very configurable, but it sounds nice and is free. Here is the download page for all their free products:  IK Multimedia FREE products

If the bass isn't up front, you can also try pitch shifting the guitar down an octave, use a little chorus and a lot of eq.

I've used this for the song. The sound is nice and it's similar to what i was searching for. Next songs i will try to use the other plugins.
