Considerations

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I wrote some posts when Sonar was released where I expressed my disappointment that the full license isn't available, but I'll wait for future developments.
Many on the forum were amazed at the almost hidden marketing work, some procedures were difficult to find and were not clear.
Now I'm looking at Presonus' marketing efforts on the upcoming release of version 7 and they've done a fantastic job, for me, with a staff preview where they clarify all the points about perpetual licensing.
I still clarify that for me Sonar is my Pro DAW and I will wait for news on the full license, but the other competitors are moving forward including Atmos renderings and I hope Bandlab realizes this.
Greetings

I quickly got all these prices by going to each developers web site and they were either on the home page or listed under " Buy" or "Purchase"  Not so for Sonar.

Google " Cakewalk Sonar Price "   will get you to Legacy Store for Sonar Plat. The cost of subscribing is hidden from the public on the Bandlab websites and the only way to find out is buy signing up for a membership. If you were shopping for a Daw would you even bother?

Not true. Google 'bandlab membership' and any of the first half-dozen or so links will get you to a page that shows the cost. But I agree the 'Bandlab Membership' link on the main Sonar page should take you to http://bandlab.com/membership instead of account log in/sign up.

Yes we might think to do that. But a random person who is shopping for a Daw would never type that, They would do like I did and use keywords like Sonar or Cakewalk. As I said, try it... You get pricing to purchase Sonar Plat. Which begs the question why they have not yet killed those pages.  It's all okay to a point, but it's disheartening to see such a good Daw get such shabby treatment.

So note,, no prices. you have to sign up.

Don't know why you keep insisting that you have to sign up. Below is a screenshot of the first link that search brings up: http://bandlab.com/membership

I get your point about the challenge of getting there from the Sonar page, but making false statements to support your argument isn't helpful.
