I trialed it but I didn't like that it needs audio input to produce vinyl and tape noise.

Vinyl noise often got worse as the signal got louder. Maybe they need to input to get more realistic results. I have no experience with REAL tape noise so not sure about that.

I didn't notice it because I only use it to dirty up dialog samples. Seems odd, worn vinyl records certainly have noise in between sounds.

I don't remember which software that came with (been years), maybe some version of SONAR?  but you can buy it separately.   I use it for the automated distortion/etc on the synth / e-guitar-like "lead" track that starts around 30 seconds in on TT # Nex Ool here

I've used it on quite a few projects as resonant filters and whatnot.
