tom
I’ve never fully understood IK Multimedia tiers, I have SampleTank 4 CS so does the $1 deal for SampleTank 4 give me something else? Or is it just the same sampler/player thing without any libraries?
Brian Cadoret
Sampletank 4 gives you over a 100 GB of samples where as Sampletank CS is only 4GB. Well worth the deal for $1 go for it. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4/index.php?p=versions&srsltid=AfmBOorYbFqfw8rAAc-8qLZdmnuXVRS6N_8eBmK4hC0oXlmqkiyCKTFo#nl_form_area

You should be able to do a comparison of content across the various versions on the IK Multimedia site
TheMaartian
I am not a fan of Sampletank. I have it installed, but only have my Syntronik 2 Max instruments available. At this price, I couldn't see any reason not to pick up all of the Sampletank 4 instruments. It's going to take a LONG time to download and install all of them. My 2 TB Thunderbolt 3 SSD sample drive will be close to maxed out when it's finished. I think I'll move all of my IKM instruments to one of my 2 USB3.2 2 TB drives.

Or is it just the same sampler/player thing without any libraries? This should help. Sampletank 4, the engine and player/editor, is the same in all versions, they just vary greatly in the amount of content you get with it. With IK, it usually goes, in order of content: CS<SE<Standard<MAX CS is the free version, limited but quite useful. SE is the lightest paid version, then Standard, then MAX. Your Sampletank 4 CS has 4GB of samples and 50 patches. If you pay for the $1 Humble Bundle you get the Standard version, with 100GB of samples and 6000 patches. So, yes, it very much gives you something else. If you pay $30, you get MAX,. which includes Miroslav Philharmonik 2, Syntronik 2, and SampleTron 2. Those products may be used in Sampletank or separately. Then there's a whole lotta Sampletank modules, like Neil Peart Drums, Terry Bozzio Drums, Alan Parsons Piano, their Rhodes, Wurli, combo organs, just a ton of content. So much that I've had Sampletank 4 MAX for over a year and I still haven't gone through it all. 600GB of samples, 18, 096 patches. Some of the modules (like the drum modules) come with libraries of MIDI loops that are designed around the sounds. I haven't even messed about with those. It's a huge buffet of sounds. Think of a vintage keyboard or synth and it's likely in there somewhere.
D Mo
Has anyone who bought Humble Bundle Tier 4 gotten SampleTank 4 MAX v2? I bought it after the change that included MAX v2 and only received Standard along with the listed libraries. IK support told me to logout/login to IK Product Manager, but that doesn't solve the missing libraries. For me, since I had MAX v1, this is most evident with the missing 12 Syntronik libraries that are included in MAX v2. The Humble Bundle Tier 4 is listed in my IK account with the correct serial number and the standard Sampletank lists that the Humble Bundle sound libraries should be included within IK Product Manager, but they aren't actually available. I've contacted support twice, reinstalled IK Product Manager on a completely different computer, and tried several other things, but it seems like the content simply isn't there... Until/unless they fix it, I basically received nothing I wanted from the purchase since I already had MAX v1. I'm curious if I'm the only one with this issue. Pan D
D Mo i also bought HB Tier 4 and have similar problems I already had Sample Tank MAX and Syntronik Deluxe and now many of the extra v2 libraries fail to start download in the Product manager The main reason to buy the bundle was Sampletron 2 witch is among the v2 libraries i cant download . i opened a support ticket to IK and waiting for a response In my IK user area its exactly the same situation with you , no option to download v2 libraries I hope its a mistake of IK servers and not something done in purpose due to the low price . The product description in Humble stated that the bundle included the full ST 4 max v2 and their link to IK site was exactly the same product . Anyway i will wait a few days and if the problem still exists i will ask Humble for a refund
D Mo
@Pan D, same. I’ll ask for a refund if support can’t sort it out. Hopefully, they’ll sort it out reasonably quickly! I’m wondering if the problem relates to those of us with Max v1. Not sure, but it’s frustrating.

In the past when we have seen clarifications posted in the forum like this ^^^, even if it took some time to get straightened out, I am pretty sure that IK came through. I'd give them a chance to make good on this. Edited October 23 by user 905133 fixed typo (seem --> seen)

The most annoying thing is that after activating this bundle with Product Manager in the same computer with max v1 license instead of adding more available activations it removed 1 more license from the available sample tank max v1 ones Probably they dont know the difference between a NEW upgraded product and an update......... Starship Krupa
IK Multimedia sometimes take a while to sort things out, but they will sort them out. Open a ticket and be patient. Maybe it will take a day or two to receive access to the content that you didn't even expect to get when you paid for the bundle, but you'll get the content and it is fine content indeed. Syntronik 2 and SampleTron 2 are excellent instruments/libraries, two of my very favorite ones. This is not a deal to get a refund and walk away from. You'll see.😀

In my case being a long time Sample Tank 4 max ( i spend almost 250euro to get it when it first released) and Syntronic user the main reason to get this bundle was to get access to SampleTron 2 . Unfortunately this is not possible right now and makes me feel a bit disappointed with my purchase but most of all for the hours i spend trying to find a solution . Sample tank 4 is an excellent instrument i really love it but it deserves more quality less quantity addon libraries . Too much wasted GBs Sometimes Less is More

Tier 4 of the IK Pro Sound Bundle now offers a massive 88 products, 600 GB of sounds and grooves and over 18,000 instruments." Thanks. A bit disappointing for people that bought the bundle earlier and missed out on the upgraded ST bundle. Ridiculously good value at this price. Yesterday (2024-10-23), when I realized I could get my 12 missing libraries for the Tier 4 price, I went to the HB site and saw the offer had expired. In researching "IK Pro Sound Suite" today, I found another a post in another forum that references an e-mail the HB team evidently sent out. I am quoting it here since it might be of interest to purchasers of the Suite: Quote Great news! IK Multimedia is so excited with the incredible performance of their Humble Bundle deal, they’ve decided to sweeten the offer for everyone! We’re delighted to inform you that your Tier 4 purchase has been upgraded! Now, in addition to the 40 products, 30 GB of loops and sounds, you’ve been upgraded to the entire SampleTank 4 MAX v2 collection. Once you’ve registered your tier 4 serial you’ll see a new serial in your IK user area letting you download all 88 products, 600 GB of sounds and grooves and over 18,000 instruments. It includes all the libraries you’ve already unlocked, plus dozens more in every style and genre from classical to trap. It’s IK’s way of saying thanks for making our Humble Bundle offer such an amazing success! And if you know anyone else who might benefit from this incredible deal, there’s just a few days left to tell a friend and raise money for our amazing partner Music Will. Sincerely, The Humble Bundle Team [emphasis added] I find it interesting that this was posted 14 days ago (2024-10-10, by my calculations). The way I read this, the letter was intended for people who had already purchased Tier 4 of the bundle.
IK Multimedia
It was intended for all who purchased Tier 4, previously or after the email Humble sent. I also just proposed a pretty straightforward solution (hopefully) for the folks having issues with a few of the libraries not downloading so if you haven't contacted IK Support about your issues with Tier 4 libraries please do so. Thanks for chiming in. Good suggestion for those with issues to contact support. With the original bundle, Tier 4 would have only added 6 libraries I didn't have (as opposed to 12 in the revised Tier 4 bundle), and they would not have been my first choice. The $20-minimum tier had 3 and the $15-minimum tier had 1. Not complaining, mind you, just lamenting that the change wasn't announced sooner here (a forum that has a number of loyal IK consumers) and I missed it. I know that I can no longer post deals here but I try to swing by to answer questions and clarify things best I can. The Humble Bundle was more hands-off than promos we run ourselves (like the one I can't post about directly that I don't see listed ) so that's my bad for not swinging by to say whatever I can about the deal.
