Question

How to reproduce:

- select multiple notes

- hold left click on one of them to attempt to change the note length of all selected

- only one actually changes

I don't know why this happens, it doesn't happen reliably, it just happens sometimes. Can someone please help me

Never had this issue with recent versions of Cakewalk.

Which exact version of Cakewalk are you using?

I'm using 2024.07, I'm just not sure if theres some weird setting I have toggled or what but its very annoying

You probably should update to 2024.08 Build 108.

Can you post a video recording of the issue.

Here is how this works with CbB.

So this sounds dumb, but when I tried recording, the entire 2 hour session, it didn't happen once. It's random when it happens

The only keys I use are:

space - play and pause

left click - drag to edit note length

right click - drag to select notes

control - to select multiple notes, to scroll left and right

Once it happens once, it happens once every now and then only stopping once I shutdown my computer, closing and re-opening cakewalk doesn't seem to fix it

Here, I managed to capture it happening, it happens every few times I drag notes

This was fixed in Sonar earlier this month.

The issue arises when adjusting the note length causes the clip length to change.

In CbB the workaround is to extend the clip length before you change the note length - alternatively just adjust the other notes afterwards.

Another method (which I prefer) is to bounce to clip(s) regularly to merge all separate MIDI clips in the track into one.

Ah, that will explain why I never saw this issue.

With all of my MIDI projects, I regularly bounce MIDI clips on all tracks so that there is only ever one MIDI clip per MIDI track.
