The Microwave 1 synth had digital wavetables as sound sources but true analog filters. Micro Q is completely digital (as well as the Microwave 2, XT, etc). The only synth with analog filters in this lineage where the Q+ family. So this is the Waldorf modern "take" on the emulation of the original Microwave analog filter natively. One could argue that the digital filters implemented in the Microwave 2/XT back in the 90's, that runs on a motorola DSP chip, were also an attempt at that. I don't know... I never had a Microwave 1 to compare with my Microwave 2. But the advances in this technology since then are so overwhelming that I don't doubt this emulation will sound closer to the original synth than any attempts Waldorf have made in the past. I'm tempted. But I'll probably wait for some future sale on this one. Edited August 23 by Sergio
Zoukiman
Thanks for your point of view / review. My thoughts too... The same about the price, seen waldorf vst plugin prices drop so crazy so many times...
