AB9
I hope I can convey this well. When I am in the piano roll view doing some midi note editing with the smart tool, often if I try to change the length of one note it changes the length of more notes as well. If I click on the view somewhere, I can often get it to only change the note in question with the smart tool. Is there some sort of parameter I can change in preferences or somewhere else, where I can have the default being only changing the length of the one selected note? Thanks in advance! (note - this has been a problem with cakewalk bandlab as well as Sonar - both great products!) Edited July 9 by AB99
John Vere
The action will only effect any highlighted, selected notes. You must be selecting more than one note. Possibly change your zoom horizontal and or vertically so your notes are more visible will help. I have to change to the Mercury theme to have a white background to work effectively in PVR. Black makes it hard to see stuff like this for me. Other than that you can lasso groups of notes or click on the keyboard to the left to select all of a given notes.
AB9
Thank you. You are correct and, as usual, very helpful. The problem is that when I select a track to be have the PVR view, it automatically selects everything in the PRV. I am not sure how you can see a track in the PRV without having all the notes selected. Anyway, it is sort of a minor pain. Ideally, I would like to select a track in the PRV, and have none of the notes highlighted until I specially highlight a note in the PRV. Clicking anywhere in the track header apart from the track number (e.g. the track name) will set the track to be the active/focused track. Clicking the track number will select the track and all its events If you need to set the active track in the PRV, expand the PRV Track Pane by clicking the expand button in the top right hand corner of the PRV. You can then choose which tracks to edit directly from the PRV. 2
