Plans for official Tutorials?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if Cakewalk/ Bandlab have any plans to make official tutorial videos for Sonar and Next?
I noticed almost all the other DAW’s have good quality videos some are built into the start screen.
The collection of homemade videos is now overwhelmingly huge and the quality is generally not very good.
I realized that CbB was free and there was very little budget for that but now things are going to take off I’m hoping they could appoint a Staff member to developing at least a beginners series.
Note that this question has nothing to do with my own dabbling in making tutorials. I only did that as I saw a need. It’s way overdue for replacing Mortens collection.

We'll likely figure something out for that at some point, but our priorities on the Cakewalk team itself are focused on development. As I'm sure you're familiar, doing that kind of content can be a sizable task.

Also bear in mind it's a holiday weekend here in the US, and while some of us are checking in periodically, you might not get an immediate answer from Staff about everything.

Yes developer produced tutorials are usually far superior to "You Tube" videos. They always are right to the point and edited to be as short as possible.

You Tubers tend to think people want to look at them and put up with 2 to 5 minutes of promo introductions. Those old videos by  @Morten Saether are actually my favorites. Each one is on topic and to the point.  I see Morten is still with the team. He could probably recycle the old scripts and just make a few changes.

maybe with the influx of new users to bandlab, some bandlab budget should be made for a team member to make such videos? (hello marketing?) it would bring them up to the level of the other daws who do make such videos... back in the day @Craig Anderton used to make sos columns and forum posts in the same idea (explaining particular stuff) but sadly he skipped to studio one some time ago, maybe you could come back craig?

Craig and also perhaps Scott Garrigus
