A subscription to CbB?

There is no such thing as a "subscription" to Cakewalk, it is a completely free program, the only requirement is activation via the official website, many other companies use this method for their free (!!!) products.

Is someone forcing you to work in DAV from Bandlab or Cakewalk? You are completely free to choose any other program in which everything will be done the way you like.

Why is everybody so defensive of a company that obviously made it clear that they are not focused on long time users and what we think?

This Daw has become just a piece of "merch" in a cooperate strategy to sell subscriptions. Doesn't take much to figure that out. Nothing wrong with it otherwise.

Continue to save your hard work in a format that belongs to a Cooperation whos goal, understandably, is to make money for the shareholders. Nothing wrong with that either, it's how the world is run. Sonar is a great Daw! I hope it survives all this BS.   We should be buying shares in Bandlab!   But this Membership deal and Cakewalks pop ups have lost a lot of loyal users.

My observation is that Daw's that are owned by the developers do care what the users think. So if that is important to you, then you should seek that out. Our developers care but they have no control of the marketing.

So my feedback about the new release is I'm all for them adding advertising and making people sign in once a week. PT 1st ( free)  makes you do it every day. If you don't like it either take the bait or --

It seems that several people who are particularly offended by this brand were paid for deliberate and groundless hate, and not for any shortcomings or imperfections, but simply for the sake of denigrating the brand itself. What could be simpler - if you don't like one DAW or brand - switch to any other company, and work in your favorite convenient program, where everything is as you want. But no, you have to constantly condemn these products for an unclear purpose. And also, at the same time, advertise some other third-party products, do you think that this is rational or appropriate in this forum dedicated to Cakewalk?

When the approach to each person's opinions is made in an unfriendly manner, with "I don't like" markings, there is no way to prosper in a dialogue in this type of tone. There are those who defend anything that is said about the application with tooth and nail and sarcastic language. On the other hand, there are those friends with common sense who, empathetically, try to understand the reasons for a comment. After all, the human race is something much more complicated than "correcting" the hundreds of bugs constantly reported in the versions of SONAR that have been released. For my part, and because I am from Brazil, a third world country, where the exchange rate difference is $1.00 = R$6.00 or 1 euro = R$7.00, paying $71.00 for annual use makes a huge difference. As someone here has already said, the company made its choices and others have also told users to make their own at their convenience. For my part, I will continue using CDB, now with this message that, for me, is quite annoying, and follow the feedback on the new versions of SONAR and its reported, acknowledged and corrected bugs, until a moment of personal perception that the amount charged is acceptable for my economic reality.

Very well stated Milton. I agree.

Maybe you forgot where you are? Let me remind you: this is a feedback of the latest version of Cakewalk by Bandlab, it is a completely free DAW, and this thread discusses the problems (or charms) of this version. And you write about your poverty in your country, which has absolutely nothing to do with this program and the assessment of its characteristics or quality. And I do not "defend tooth and nail" anything, literally everything works in my Cakewalk, should I sympathize with you, who almost constantly has nothing but problems for several years?  Well, as for "sympathetic friends with common sense" - you need to look for such people in social networks, this is not quite the right place for such sentiments, it seems to me. And friendliness has nothing to do with it at all, if you are trying to discuss a completely different DAW IN THIS THREAD, and even from the position of your poverty. Please end this third-party holy war, reread the very first comment from the developers, what can and cannot be written and discussed here.

tbf, this is (supposed to be) a user forum, but since the bl takeover what can and cannot be written and discussed here has changed, because bl don't like what their users are talking about 🤷‍♀️

Some forum users have obvious difficulties understanding the rules, here is the main post in this thread:

"Hi all - please use this topic to post feedback specific to the 2024.11 release. Release-specific feedback is valuable to us, and consolidating it in a single topic is extremely helpful.

We request that discussion in this thread be restricted to issues directly concerning this release, to make it easier for us to assist users. For other topics, kindly use the feature request section or create new posts. Off topic messages will be deleted."

And I want to emphasize: this is not written by someone from Bandlab, who "has takeover everything everywhere", but by one of the developers of the Cakewalk team, do you understand the difference? Do you understand the meaning of the word "feedback"?

To discuss any (!) other topics, there are other threads on this forum, where anyone can freely discuss anything, suggest anything, talk about the difficulties of their lives and the exchange rate in their country, and publish their work.

@IgoRr sure but that wasn't the point i was making in reply to your comment "what can and cannot be written and discussed here"

i agree that threads should be kept clean and on topic, unless by "here" you meant this specific thread, i assumed "here" meant "this forum", apologies if i misunderstood, and yes i understand english 🤪

The comments here are feedback , except from a certain troll who wants to argue.

The developers should be getting the message that the CbB users don't want to see ads like a cheesy android app which started in this version. Also, there is a major concern about forcing users to pay for  subscription to use CbB. These are creating unhappy users.   Finally, I also think that CbB is pretty good and doesn't need continual "updating" and unneeded new features. (That should be saved for the paid versions.)

In fact, there was no correction whatsoever. In the version they released, they inserted a code that monitors the existence of messages to be sent to CDB users. In this case, there was this promotion that was discontinued. Others will come, for sure!

With the previous update (2024.07.108) on Win11, my configured Control Panel flew to the default. I did not write about it here, I just configured the panel again. Locked it again.

And with this update, the Control Panel flew back to the default!

Again!

Confusion!

ps This does not happen in Win7.
