Importing Tempo Maps

I have searched high and low how to import tempo maps from standard MIDI files, and have been unsuccessful. There are dozens of YT videos on tempo issues but nothing on how to import the tempo map. I can open a MIDI file in any sequencer and see the tempo map, so I know they're there. 

If one of y'all know how, I'd sure appreciate it. I've attached the MIDI file that I've been working on.

i usually just double click on the MIDI file to open it in Sonar (or CW) and select a track and edit -> copy special:

then in a new project i'll insert it via edit -> paste special

i'm sure  there are other methods but i find this fast and reliable.
