satya
https://mcdsp.com/apb/apb-downloads Tape APB still aims to recreate the sought-after sound of magnetic tape, but as it runs on the company’s APB platform, its processing takes place in the analogue domain. The plug-in uses a four-stage process within the APB unit that has been designed to recreate the compression-like effect of recording to tape, with its algorithm emulating the characteristics of machines made during the 1970s and ‘80s. Users are provided with a choice of two tape types (GP9 and 456) and playback head configurations, as well as parameters that define the amount of low-end ‘bump’, low-frequency roll-off and tape compression. Level controls are provided at both the input and output stages, and a pair of VU-style meters offer a visual indication of input, output and gain reduction levels. Compatibility Tape APB runs on McDSP’s hardware APB-8 and APB-16 units.
