Mesh
I installed it last night and I was very impressed with the quality/ease of use with this synth. I'm not a keyboard player, but I just couldn't pull myself away from it. This is totally worth every cent and it may or may not make it into a project (IDK), but it's definitely a good one.

Will I forget that I have it within 2 weeks of that......? Probably. Does it look nice.....? Yes. Despite all of the above am I still tempted.......? Yes. Would hate to wait for next month's PB freebie, only to find Union's gone up to normal price. According to MusicRadar the offer runs to 1 January. https://www.musicradar.com/news/soundspots-new-wavetable-synth-plugin-intros-at-a-ludicrous-pound599 Edited October 30, 2019 by Wibbles

I'm waiting for the one I get a code for in my Kellogg's Cornflakes. Or maybe Coco Pops for a fatter sound. Indeed we are, and about time. The market is pretty much fully saturated, and some of the over $200.00 synths do not actually offer more function or better sound than much less expensive offerings. The technology involved in programming audio applications is not likely to experience a major breakthrough in the near future, while the power of processing is making it easier to get good results with less labor intensive coding. If you are introducing a new synth, and you are not one of the Cadillac synth makers, who command high prices because of their brand recognition, the chance of selling thousands of units at a low price rather than hundreds at a price you think your work and talent deserve, is likely a better strategy. I have picked up several synths at below $50.00 in the past year, and may never make extensive use of them (cheap synths often cost as much time and effort as expensive ones to use), but at least I do not feel obligated to spend hours on them because I spent too much money to justify otherwise. Many of these cheap synths are high quality stuff--the days of SynthEdit amateur work are drawing to a close as more talented developers enter the field. As to Cornflakes, that is a twentieth century distribution system that is not likely to re-emerge. The digital equivalent is already in full swing, with the cost of some of these offerings being no more than your email address and the access that implies to your complete life history. I bought it. I have not yet used it. At least I can console myself that I have donated to help support reasonable prices for audio software.

It's pretty much Soundspot's MO to have inflated list prices but heavily "discount" them frequently. For example their Ravage distortion plugin has a list price of £169.99 but is currently on sale for £8.95. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/30-Distortion/4923-Ravage. Nonetheless, they still seem like bargains*. * Subject to https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/7891-soundspot-union/&do=findComment&comment=71744
