Notes_Norton
A customer sent me a couple of MIDI files that he made with my styles. He wanted to know if he owed me any royalties if he fleshed them out and made a recording of it. I told him my styles are tools, and anything you make with my styles is royalty free as long as you don't give the style itself away. He's from France, his English is minimal, my French is even less so I thought I'd ask here instead of asking him. In the beginning of each song are the usual assignments pitch bend, cc 7 (track volume) cc11 (expression), cc10 (pan), cc64 (sustain pedal) and so on. Looking at his file I see these in sequence cc 100=0 cc 101=1 (in another file cc 101=2) cc 6=64 Now I know that if both cc100 and 101 =0 and are followed by cc6 the cc6 denotes pitch bend range But what if cc101 = 1 or 2? I'm hoping to learn something here (I googled and failed) Thanks, Notes
