Tracks bleeding /recording onto other tracks

My friend bought this generic musical interface and has windows 11 laptop.He downloaded bandlab and when he records onto say track 1 and is finished then arms track 2 track 1 records onto track 2 without him playing anything on it.then the same for trk 3,4,5 etc.... please help .

Is he looping back the playback into the input?
