Larry Shelby
We're excited to release Tonocracy v2.1, featuring our latest addition: the Brit 800 SchemAccurate amp model! Alongside this are several other improvements and bugfixes, so all users will want to upgrade, especially if you use Audio Unit plugins on macOS. The Brit 800 is our SchemAccurate amp model based on the legendary Marshall® JCM800 2203, celebrated for its pivotal role in rock music since its introduction in the early 80s. This amp's signature sound has powered countless hits, offering a blend of clarity and aggression that brought both rhythm and lead guitar to the forefront and defined the sound of an era. To capture the essence of those classic tones, try pairing the Brit 800 with an overdrive pedal like the Supreme Drive found in the FX folder. This combination is great for focusing the bottom-end and helping lead tones to sing in a way which is harder to achieve when just going straight into the amp. TIP: Start by keeping the Drive control almost all the way down and use Level to push your tone to the desired sweet spot - if you still need more saturation, then bring up Drive a little bit. Don’t pigeon-hole this amp as only being suited for Rock and Metal, though. Just like the real thing, Tonocracy’s Brit 800 model is also excellent for clean and edge-of-breakup tones when the Gain knob is turned down, perfect for blues and other genres. You may be surprised how warm, chewy, and touch sensitive it can be with the right settings! Updating to the latest version is simple - If you're already using Tonocracy, just hit the update button in the upper right corner of the standalone app or plugin. New to Tonocracy? Welcome aboard! Craig Fowler
I was going to post something snarky about how I was glad someone had finally decided to model this amp, but when I saw this was a free download I decided to bite my tongue ?
