Mánibranðr Studios Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 This is a pretty nice offering, the number of bands available is pretty mind-blowing. Though, I think I'd use TDR Nova more often, due to the dynamic EQ functionality. 1
cclarry Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 This is a VST, so will work in any DAW, for those who don't know...it's not LV2 which is tied to Mixbus 2

cclarry Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 Well, I couldn't get the installer to work. It said "this version is not compatible with your version of Windows"?
TheMaartian Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Worked fine for me (Win10 Home 1903). Note that it installs all four of their plugins, but you only get the free license file for the mastering EQ. 1
kennywtelejazz Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Wow Sweet , thanks for the heads up Larry ! The timing on this is perfect since I just upgraded to Mixbus 32C a few weeks ago . Kenny

kennywtelejazz Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 when you say refuses to run ? what exactly do you mean ? does it show up at all after a scan ? can you register it ? Kenny
TheSteven Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) What a friggin stupid installer, almost just deleted it from my system (which happens if you run installer twice) Doesn't let you determine where is installs. Installs to C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugIns C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3\Harrison\AVA Root of X64 VST plugin folder defined in your registry C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Harrison\AVA Installs De-Esser, MultiBand Compressor and Legacy Q versions whether you want them or not. The free license for the Mastering EQ - ie the ME versions: Harrison_AVA-ME_64bit.dll, Harrison_AVA-ME_32bit.dll, etc. No explanation of this in documentation, figured that out from sales pages. You shouldn't have to hunt for the install locations or manually have to clean up crap you didn't want installed or have to hunt on a web site just to figure out what you got. kennywtelejazz Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) Yes I have to admit it was a strange install . I let it do it's thing and I figured once I had my licensee also placed in the right folder it would authorize .. Not the case I had to run a manual scan in Mixbus 32 C for it to show up and in Reaper I wound up having to go online and paste my authorization link .. At first it seemed as if it didn't work but after all that Jazz it in fact did work . Seems worth the extra hoops I had to jump through YMMV Kenny Edited October 12, 2019 by kennywtelejazz
TheSteven Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 I just ran it in MiniHost and pasted in the code to authorize mine.

cclarry Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 Re-downloaded this morning and it worked this time! Very odd! 1

Thanks for the heads up. I really don't want this enough to put up with that sort BS. (Waves Central anyone?) I've already got loads of other EQs that I don't know how to use properly, so I won't be missing this one.
Wibbles Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 Here's the manual: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_jevkhNsqR59OEqYtV0JJfpwLOCk4kj2i2Q_IOxQPjc/edit
LAGinz Posted October 12, 2019 Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) I got it to install and authorize pretty much as advertised. OTOH, I have had so many past issues getting Mixbus 4 to work, that I gave up on it entirely. Edited October 12, 2019 by LAGinz
