Great interview. I'm a keyboard player, but there were so many nuggets of wisdom for music in general that I really learned a lot from this one.

Got to hear him with the Police when they were still playing small venues just after they broke through.
Great band live and all good musicians.

Summers was on the scenes in late 66 when Hendrix arrived in September. I think he was one of the first to hear him play and before the Experience was even formed.

I also recall seeing him on the credits of a record that a friend's father owned: Neil Sedaka Live at the Royal Festival Hall.
That didn't help his punk credentials. ?
