Finally! It was so stupid the way they had it set up.

You could have set it up to replace the current instrument if you wanted.  Unfortunately they made it the default to add to the rack.

Did they just add that "New instruments to you"? It seems like it can't be hidden and it's maximized when you open Kontakt. Really annoying.

Apparently the “New Instruments for you” are ads in the browser that can't be hidden.

Absurd! Usually when a company decides to do something like that, running ads in a purchased product, is a sign that they are becoming full of themselves and really dont give a ** about their costumers.

They had done this before on their native access tool, but that is basically an installer… this is worse… plain stupid

Once I found that Kontakt 6.8 was only created  to put in a nag to update to 7, I reverted and stopped all NI updates.

And after following the cluster of UI/UX mistakes & buggy code issues, I think I'll wait a few more years for 8.x.

And then to have the audacity to basically make 7.7 into the Home Shopping Network was a bridge waaaayyy to far.

I don't care for the new libraries tab much and have set the default view back to the way it was before the update. At least 50% of the libraries I use are third party ones that do not appear in the libraries and get loaded from the files view anyway.

My biggest shock was having to update Native Asshat that 2/3 upgraded with no problem.

Then it's a crapshoot upgrading plugins whether I have to use their registry tool.

File under “nothing works any longer”.

Why the updater ever needs to be updated just seems like bad design. It downloads files and puts them in places. Surely it can download and parse a manifest file of some sort.

If it were just an "updater", things would be easy. But the new generation of "updaters" is all about pushing ads for the products you don't own yet. UVI's is the worst, bu there are many examples.

It's slightly annoying in the updater.  I might not mind if they had a button in the sidebar for promotions just under the one for updates.

It is just intrusive in the plugin.
