Other recording audio is coming through on active recording

I am new to this new version of Cakewalk. Had Sonar previously and never had this issue before. I am trying to record a new track but everytime I do, the previously recorded track also records through the track (even though it's not armed) creating an "echo" effect. I am sure this is an easy fix that I'm just missing, but any help would be appreciated.

RMB on the <Record> button in the toolbar and check if you are using <Sound on Sound>.

You probably want to use <Overwrite>.

Welcome to the forum.
Ensure your sound card or audio interface doesn't have 'WhatUHear' or 'Stereo Mix' as an input. Those will always play the output to the input resulting in all the audio you hear (?) being recorded.
What is your sound card or audio interface?
