Since then I've added some plugins back when there has been a solid offer: sound design x bundle (punch 2 / blade 2 / blue 2) - punch 2 is one of my favourite drum plugins, it doesn't get the love it deserves, and I've always liked the more unusual additive sounds in blade. Blue 2 is nice enough, but I have better tools for FM. Go2 - nice little synth for the price sound design x counts as 2 products, so with RG I'm now up to the max discount of having 4 products.
Walter Cruz
BTW, I received the e-mail from Rob Papen today, and now it seems that sale is live everywhere, so it doesn't seem to have been a mistake, but some sellers began the sale early than expected. 2 1

mibby
You get 2 FREEBIES when you register: RP-Amod and Prisma. Also, RP-Pan was free at BestService. (I had this one already though.)

Brian Lawler
Following is a snip from the Rob Papen newsletter that he sends to subscribers (today's edition). The first video is referenced in the newsletter, the second is his weekly YouTube post that went up yesterday. RG is an awesome ‘all in one guitar’ groove machine. Packed with 70ties Rhythm Disco styles, Steel string guitar, Muted Guitar and even Power Chord grooves. RG uses a specialised built in sequencer to create its rhythmic unique guitar like patterns. Although RG won’t replace a real guitar player it has its own character and usefulness within your songs and productions. RG is a perfect musical tool for creating rhythmic guitar grooves in your House, Hip-hop, Game music, and commercial tunes. Before your purchase of RG it is essential to watch the introduction video for RG to help you understand its concept and features: 1
Doug Rintoul
That first video is from 14 years ago. I wonder if there have been any improvements or development on RG since then. Or was it perfect when it was released? Still trying to decide if it adds anything to what I already have. I am not taken by the sound of RG but if the sequencer is unique, it might be useful to feed it through of the number of guitar effects I own. Fleer
I don’t know why I don’t gel with Papen’s instruments, but it is what it is.

Latest release is v1.6 and I can't find announcement or change list for it. V1.6 possibly/probably added at least VST3 support (based on 2010 being too early for VST3) and NKS support. Build dates on the v1.6 installers (one with NKS support the other without) exe are Feb 3rd, 2023. TheSteven
I'll probably use RG as an idea sketching/ song writing tool because it loads fast and does a couple of things OK (off the top steel string acoustic strumming & power chords). Yeah there may be better sounding alternatives but sometimes I don't want to bother either whipping out a guitar or loading Kontakt for just sketching something out. Anyway YMMV. Maybe subconsciously I felt I had to justify spending around $15 (I used BestService credits to kick price down a couple of bucks) or maybe I was just bored but I'm tired of this thread. Peace out. Why is this question important? Quote . . . we can consider RG to be the first 'Rhythm Guitar Synth as opposed to just being a real guitar emulator. In several places it is described (I will grant you that) as a Rhythm Guitar Synth. If you read the manual, it is very similar to what used to be called a ROMpler in the days when ROMplers were synths (short for synthesizers) that used samples (stored in ROM) which functioned as sound sources for synth engines. It seems to me "RG" is short for Rhythm Guitar Synthesizer. Yes, RG is just RG. You are right. But why are you making an issue of whether or not the word "Synthesizer" is in the name? Quote The synthesizer parts of RG include a classic analog modeled synthesizer filter, LFO, envelopes and modulation section. The effect section can be built up by using up to 3 effects at a time. Included are midi time-based delays, chorus and also speaker simulators, phaser, flanger and many more. Included are over 1000 presets included 850 "RG" grooves and 300 "basic" grooves. Watch the "Video Tutorial" about RG! RG the very first "Rhythm Guitar Synth". Edited September 24, 2023 by User 905133 (2) to add a quotation where he equates "RG" with "Rhythm Guitar Synth." (1) fixed typo
