I would like to hear your opinions, too. :) The PA plugins are in frequent use here, a I don't know if I am missing something.

I like the PA ones, though I only have the SSL E and G, not the N of the J. Was interested in them but Lindell has a fine Neve channel and the native SSL is a great 9000 (J). So I guess I’ll stick with the E and G.

How are these compared to the PA ones?

Asking for a friend :)

Friends don't let friends buy Waves ?

The PA and native SSL ones are really good and both keep providing free updates and you can use on multiple machines.

I don't think you're missing out on anything with the Waves ones at all. They're OK, nothing really wrong with the sound quality and not better, just slightly different like how even PA is to native SSL.

But the others don't have the same downsides as Waves.

I use the one from SSL: https://store.solidstatelogic.com/plug-ins/ssl-native-channel-strip-2

But if you're really specifically wanting the 4000 they have this: https://store.solidstatelogic.com/plug-ins/ssl-4k-b

Don't let the prices scare you away, they have some pretty great sales (though I'm not sure if the 4000 has been on sale yet)

Yes, I have all the SSL Plugins, however in this case I still prefer to go with the Waves version. They add some certain added bite to guitar/bass tracks which I really like, and wont let go of until something better imo comes along.
