martsave martin s
hello there is there a way maybe (CAL-script) to combine multi-midi tracks? midi notes..to one midi-tracks thx martin
Billy86
I’d like to know this as well. For example, I’d like to record a MIDI performance of a left hand on a piano and then play the right hand part separately while monitoring the left hand notes. Then combine both into a single MIDI track. This sounds like the way to do that. Thanks.
martsave martin s
i'v look on the CAL-script but there not seems to have one that would "combine" multiple-midi tracks..
bitman
Maybe select midi tracks in question and bounce to tracks, selecting only one as a destination? Quote

That's what I would have suggested. Remember to set the MIDI channel in the inspector to none though, if your track contains multiple MIDI channels that you want to preserve. willard cottrell
There are two types of midi save '0' and '1'. I know one will save everything to one track and the other to each individual track - can't remember which is which.
abacab
What’s the difference between MIDI Type 0 and MIDI Type 1 files? https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/what-difference-between-midi-type-0-midi-type-1/
John Vere
I would simply copy and paste. Or- Has to be in Sound on Sound mode-- Put the source track above the destination. Use snap to grid and drag and drop. Edited February 2, 2019 by Cactus Music
RBH
I just bounce to clips for each track - then hold shift and drag one track to the other in sound on sound mode. important to remember ( Shift key maintains their time line position ). ) ( Control shift if you want to copy the track and maintain the time line position ). Set the midi channel of the destination track to - none - if the combined tracks tracks want to retain their separate original channel data. Set to whatever MIDI channel if you want to output the combined track to a specific MIDI channel.
John
MIDI 0 is all channels are combined in one track. MIDI 1 channels are put on separate tracks.

Slugbaby
Drag one clip on top of the other. Highlight them both, and select Bounce To Clip.
