sadicus Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 First test of the day: 2019.07 simple 3 note audio clip *D/D to MIDI track, is not converting to midi. A message warning it may take a long time depending on, pops up but nothing happens. tried with combined instrument track and plain old midi track, same result. *(Drag, Dropped)
reginaldStjohn Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 I have never used the drag and drop method. I have used Melodyne to convert to midi. Maybe try that as a work around?
Klaus Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Drag and Drop to MIDI track works here. Be sure you have the latest Melodyne Version: 4.2.2.004 1
sadicus Posted August 12, 2019 Author Posted August 12, 2019 (edited) Thank you. Melodyne usually sends an update email. It is now updated to Melodyne Version: 4.2.2.004. I though Cbb used a different app for audio stretching and editing, similar to Melodyne. Tutorial search "Cakewalk Melodyne audio to MIDI" are 4-6 years old! Edited August 12, 2019 by sadicus

sadicus Posted August 13, 2019 Author Posted August 13, 2019 (edited) Most apps have new ways of using them, that's kinda the point of upgrading. Unless Cbb wants to make a list indicating 4 year old tutorials "still work" . Would you want to do a random search and watch a 30 min tutorial only to find out the info is dated and does not apply? Thanks for letting us know that it works the same. Edited August 13, 2019 by sadicus
Anubis aka Maito Makusu Senpai Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Is there anyway to use this feature without melodyne? I've tried several times without success. I did not carry over any melodyne licence from previous versions,
Starise Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 If you are a registered Melodyne customer upgrades are not overly expensive unless you upgrade buy their top tier version. The "drag and drop" is simply an incorporation of Melodyne using ARA2. I am using the "editor" version. Not sure you might be pushing the limitations of the free version. Melodyne basic only deals with mono files. If you downloaded Cakewalk with the free Melodyne addition, you might need to see if there were updates to it. Cakewalk utilizes 32 bit through bitbridge and doesn't natively support 32 bit. It is best to use 64 bit versions from now on if possible. To date there isn't anything else out there that does what Melodyne does as well as Melodyne does it. 2
