Ed Driscoll
Hi there, Help! I'm recording a multitrack that has several Propellerhead Reason tracks. For some reason, last night Cakewalk started graying out Reason when I go to Insert/Rewire Device/Uncategorized/Reason. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thanks, Ed
Glenn Stanton
maybe you got a recent update from MS? i'd reinstall the C W redistributable files and check if some update to the propeller software - might need to reinstall. i didn't put the propeller on my new system but in the past had to reinstall it after some MS updates. Bruno de Souza Lino
Also check if you didn't receive a Reason update which did that, as ReWire has been discontinued by Reason Studios.
Ed Driscoll
Thank you all for your responses. Here's an update: Cakewalk is talking to Reason fine -- I can create a new project file, insert Reason as a Rewire device, and it works fine. So it's just one project where Reason is grayed out. What I'm doing as a workaround is flying the Midi data into a new project file, recording the audio, and flying the individual audio tracks back to original project file. But it is frustrating not having everything working together, and not knowing what caused the error.
Byron Dickens
Sometimes it is just easier to do something like that than fight with a project that got messed up.
