White noise when bouncing to MP3 *SOLVED*

Hey everyone,

Since this morning, I can't seem to bounce to MP3 as I just get white noise.  If I bounce to WAV, it's fine but I can't seem to bounce to MP3 for some reason.  It was working fine last night.  I can't imagine that settings would've changed...  I checked to make sure and I am on the latest version of Cakewalk.

 

Any ideas?

**UPDATE**

Ok, so the white noise only seems to happen when I bounce to a bit rate of 320 kb/s.  I tried 256 kb/s and it's fine.  It's weird though because I've always bounced to 320 before with no issues.

**SOLVED**

I found the culprit.  Dithering was on on my limiter for some reason.

IMO, best practice is to bounce to a lossless file, then use a converter to create whatever other formats you wish to use for distribution.
