Could be that you have to be subscribed to Splice when you start rent-to-own, when you're done paying, or during the entire time... Will have to check soon. I'm 10 days into my 30 day trial and then there's a 14 day trial for rent-to-own. Just received this from Bitwig support: Hi Doug, Thanks for your email. You will receive Upgrades during the whole 25 month period, but not after. Best regards, Jordan Bitwig Support Team So unless there is something special with Splice, it is 25 months of updates which is still not too shabby. Bruno de Souza Lino
Bitwig is essentially Live, but cross platform (the whole thing is written in Java after all) and more difficult to use once you get past the standard pedestrian tasks any DAW does. It's written in Java??? Holy moly. It must be the only well-running Java software in existence.

Magic Russ
All I want from them is two things 1. Ability to rout midi input in browser to tracks. Right now, if I try to audition a midi drum track in BW, it just plays a bunch of discordant sine wave tones. It's not like this is rocket science, in fact Project 5 figured this out over 20 years ago. 2. Support audio input on the WASAPI drivers.
