It's true that we are definitely getting closer - but I suspect it could be a long way off yet. For various reasons they never released v11.5 and skipped straight to v12. That was after 16 months and deviated from what had become a fairly regular yearly cycle. Patches for v12 have been very slow and I think they are pretty bogged down.
