watamuze
Hi there. I'm running Windows 10. I've been having random audio dropout and crashing issues, seems to be related to kernalbase.dll : Faulting application name: Cakewalk.exe, version: 28.11.0.13, time stamp: 0x636ad03e Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.19041.2546, time stamp: 0xe8e9ac9b Exception code: 0xe0464645 Fault offset: 0x000000000010fd12 Faulting process id: 0x330c Faulting application start time: 0x01d952a40f3b5bc2 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Cakewalk.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll Report Id: 933db690-b2af-4d13-99e9-62fd843b8547 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have eliminated almost everything, plugins, Windows, drivers, etc. The only thing I haven't done is a complete uninstall and clean re-install of Cakewalk. I'm hoping that will fix my issues. Before I do this, I ran the Compatibility troubleshooter on Cakewalk, and it suggested I run the program in Windows 8 mode. I thought this was odd, and wanted to see if anyone got the same result with their Cakewalk? Perhaps it's just telling me the program has some corrupted files somewhere? Anyway, I'm going to re-install the software and see if my random issues get resolved.
Lord Tim
Yeah, from what I gather Cakewalk is mostly tested under Win10 and Win11, with not much at all being done on Win7. Win8 seems like an odd suggestion. It's not really different enough from 10 to be that big of a factor, IMO. Certainly worth a clean install (rather than just a regular uninstall/reinstall) and see if that helps, but this feels like there's something else going on somewhere.
