Bassfaceus
Hi all.. How many times have i selected clip, press control and drag to copy a clip and end up moving it instead? Ill tell you...lots. I just cant be consistent ive tried control first then drag /right klik clip first then control... which is the definitive way to copy a clip using control and drag . some one pls set me straight. thanks
OutrageProductions
If trying to copy a clip and paste it later in the same track, I always just use the playhead NOW time, Ctrl-C, then move the playhead to the insert point and Ctrl-V. If trying to copy a clip to another track using the Ctrl-Drag, I use the Shift key to maintain it's exact placement in time. YMMV
mark skinner
@Bass Faceus Make sure your "smart tool" is on . Select your clip with a left click and release. Hold down Ctrl , left click and Hold. If your mouse pointer is sitting on the right place on the clip you will see it turn into a plus sign (+) It can then be slid to where you want it. It sounds like you might be clicking too fast , or it doesn't know what you want to do. ms
