kitekrazy Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 http://goldwave.com/ I've had a license since 98 with lifetime updates. Doesn't work as well with 3rd party plugins. 4
Grem Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I think I remember someone bringing this to my attention may a year or two ago. Can't remember if I got it not. I think I did. Just not at home to check on it.

jerrydf Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 (edited) It's a great lightweight-yet-fully featured editor, like Audacity, but more professional. I have the icon in my taskbar, and use it a lot for basic functions. I certainly don't exploit the full capacity of the program. But like kitekrazy, I've had this for a couple of decades at least. I also have Wavelab, but Goldwave is a great one-click accessible app. Edited February 15, 2023 by jerrydf updated 1

Brian Walton Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Used this 20 years ago, looks like the same interface. Pretty hideous. I'd probably grab one of the Soundforge studio recent versions you can grab for about the same price. It isn't pro (outside of a humble bundle deal) but would cover a lot of the bases.

reginaldStjohn Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 I use goldwave quite often as well. the $20 version is only a 1 year license, basically a subscription model. The $60 version is a lifetime version.
kitekrazy Posted February 15, 2023 Author Posted February 15, 2023 I used it to record sounds using onboard audio. The other editors used my audio interfaces.
TheSteven Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Wavosaur has handled most of my basic audio editor needs for ages and it's one self-contained exe.Wavosaur free audio editor with VST and ASIO support Click on the "Wavosaur audio editor [64 bit] (en)" link in the center of the page. Can't beat the price.
