Audio Driver Bit Depth grayed out

I'm trying to set up a session for 24 bit 96K and the "Audio Driver Bit Depth" box in preferences is greyed out and I can't set it to 24bit.

I'm using an RME UFX+ and  in the Madiface settings panel I'm set for 96K.

Is there something I'm missing. In the past I've been able to set up Cakewalk for 24/96 sessions.

Well I think I found the problem.  I changed the recorded audio bit depth from 16bit to 24 bit.

 I don't know how that got changed but it seems to be back to normal now.
