Cakewalk not picking up VSTs from scan

Question

Posted

Hello,

I just finished downloading 8 libraries from EastWest Composer Cloud onto my new computer. I have the ilok license I need in order to use  Composer Cloud,  and my Cakewalk has been set up  to scan the folder where where I directed those libraries. Even after all this, Cakewalk isn't detecting any of these libraries. I don't know what else is missing, and would appreciate some assistance.

Johnny

In my experience, libraries are folders full of samples which are loaded into players and thus don't  require scanning. They are typically dragged into a sample player or synth from their folder.

That's odd... When I had some of the EW libraries installed on my old laptop, they appeared in Cakewalk just fine, and they were in the folder Cakewalk was set to scan back then. No other sort of player needed. So, naturally, I expected the same result once I got my ilok license transferred.

But, if no one else can help figure that out, what is a player that I can drag these libraries to and how do I do it?
