Scott Kendrick Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 I'm pretty sure this never used to work this way, and guessing it was a "new feature"... I right click on one track (without using the CTRL key), choose add to group and all of a sudden ALL of my tracks were added to that group, simply because they happened to be selected. But I can't remove from group that way, so I have to clear the group and start over. I suppose I will get used to deselecting tracks before doing so, but this never used to happen and I thought "CTRL key +" was the universal method of changing multiple tracks/busses at once.
msmcleod Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 This isn't new behaviour. As a general rule, most commands apply to the current selection. Where quick grouping (i.e. holding CTRL) comes in, is when adjusting track parameters such as volume, setting colours, mute/solo etc.
Scott Kendrick Posted January 23, 2023 Author Posted January 23, 2023 weird... seems like it just started happening where I'm constantly unintentionally grouping everything. Guess it's always been that way.
Starship Krupa Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I find it very handy in Cakewalk to map my tilde (~) key to Edit/Select None. When I need to deselect things, it's much easier than doing it with the mouse. 1

Scott Kendrick Posted January 27, 2023 Author Posted January 27, 2023 Love that tip! (researching how to map keys to deselect all :))
