How do I get Sweetcase's Bell dial to work properly in Cakewalk?

Question

Sweetcase's Bell setting doesn't seem to do anything on my end.

I've tried using all the Presets from the Factory Bank, and Bell doesn't do anything in any of them. (A note played with 0% Bell sounds exactly the same as a note played with 100% Bell.) I even tried copying this guy's settings manually. His chords sound a lot more like bells than mine. Mine sound more like a steel guitar or something.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install the Sweetcase Rhodes VST on your system. (The default directory is fine)
  2. Close any open project
  3. Start a New Project
  4. Select basic.cwt
  5. Add Track
  6. Click Insturment
  7. Select Sweetcase EP or Synth > Sweetcase EP
  8. Click Create
  9. The Sweetcase EP UI pops up, but it's blurred out, and it says "The audio buffer size should be a multiple of 8."  (No idea if this is the cause or not, nor how to fix it. But Sweetcase seems to work anyway if I just...)
  10. Click the X, and from now on, when you click the small track header icon, the Sweetcase UI appears to load normally.
  11. Keep the Initial Preset, but set Modulation Type to Pan
  12. Open the Piano Roll or a Virtual Controller
  13. Play some notes; Confirm notes are audible
  14. Open the Sweetcase UI again
  15. Adjust the Bell setting
  16. Play notes again

I'm using Cakewalk 2022.11 (Build 0.21, 64 bit,) on a Windows 10 laptop.

Thanks! ?

And in case anyone else has this problem, Dead Duck's DPiano-E makes a nice stopgap in the meantime.

I hate my old writing. All I can see is my mistakes.
