sadicus
Is there a way to have Cakewalk sort ports in order? https://divisimate.com/cakewalk-quickstart/ Quote 2) Go to the Preferences/MIDI/Devices and make sure that all Divisimate Ports are activated. Unfortunately Cakewalk does not sort MIDI ports by name, so they may appear out of order in the list of inputs.
Matthew Simon Fletcher
I had a chat with the Divisimate team about this recently and it sounds like they're potentially going to resolve this in a future update. Best wishes, Matthew
SirWillyDS12
There is a way to sort your Midi Output ports by way of Move Selected Devices To Top... If you have a lot of Midi Output ports it can be time consuming as you have to repeatedly hit the button to re-sort the outputs in the order you want... As far as Midi Input ports AFAIK you are pretty much at the mercy of the Windows operating system and the order that Windows makes the ports available to Cakewalk... For Output devices you can also edit the order of outputs in the file TTSSEQ.INI... This file contains your Midi Preferences and the Midi Ports you have enabled... Editing the order of Input Ports in this file will not change their order in Cakewalk and could possibly cause you problems... If you "mess up" the TTSSEQ.INI file it is a matter of just deleting it and Cakewalk will recreate it and reset your Midi Preferences...
David BEAUGRAND
@Matthew Simon Fletcher By any chance, do you use divisimate ? I downloaded the trial a couple of days ago and I can't make it work correctly. I understood the routing but I have a lot of hanging notes (no note off event..). Did you notice the same behavior ? For me it's unusable for now but I don't know if the bug is in Divisimate or Sonar

I don't remember getting a huge amount of hanging notes - or at least not any more than usual!
