GTsongwriter
I have sent a copy of audio to another track and used plug-ins on that track to make a new sound. How do I freeze that track that doesn't have any midi or audio clip on it... audio comes from another audio source track?
John Bradley
Bounce it to another track and then archive the track(s) with VSTs on them in order to free up CPU cycles. You can always un-archive and rebounce if you need to make changes to the original.

I ended up doing that, but you have to wait for the entire song to play... instead of fast bouncing.

It has audio that would go to it from other tracks, then that track has FX effects and Automation events that I wanted to apply to that audio that has been sent to it. SirWillyDS12
Perhaps another method that will give you the desired results... Copy the clip to your other track and Paste Special and click "Link to Original Clip"... This does not create another Clip but will let you "Freeze" the track without having to record in real time... If you want your Audio FX applied to the track you need to use the Apply Audio FX... Process -> Apply Effect -> Audio Effects... This does not have to be done in real time... If you are using an Aux Track you would need to set the input to "None" when you are done...
