Cakewalk plays tone whenever I press/click control button (on pc, korg nanokontrol2)

I'm a new cakewalk user and I have a very annoyng problem.   Whenever I push or click a button in cakewalk (by clicking with the mouse, or pushing a control button on my korg nanokontrol2) cakewalk plays a sound.   Even with a new empty project, without traks.

I checked the preferences in the menu but didn't see anything.

I hope someone can help me.

My setup: windows 11 laptop with latest version of cakewalk, korg nanokontrol2 usb.    No keyboard or other midi yet, but keyboard will be added very soon.

Is it the Windows system error beep or is it coming from Cakewalk? Does it still happen if you mute your hardware outputs (over at the right hand side of Console View)?
