Thinking of getting ANA2. I keep reading it's one of the most "analog" sounding soft synths, but judging from the presets, I can't see that at all. It sounds generic. Also, I've read it barely ever gets updated and I'm a Mac user.

Someone convince me either way.

It seems to me that ANA2's main claim to fame is that it was included in the Slate bundle, so it had the industry's leading hype man talking it up at every opportunity before he cashed out and moved onto exclusively hyping up his headphones.

The fancy genre-themed skins and presets were a nice touch, but they are exclusive to the Slate bundle I think.

ANA can definitely be used for some great and analogue movement type sounds. It was literally updated to 2.5 which is a major release (free update) in the last few weeks too ?

I find often that presets suck and don't show what a synth can do. Not always, sometimes they're the easiest way to test and they sound great, but some synths I would've passed on if I judged them by the presets alone.

Some of the onboard effects are really good as well.

Where did you read it was analogue sounding? It didn't sound particularly analogue when I demoed it. But it's a good to average EDM synth and they keep adding tons of features.
