Steve K Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I may be out on a limb here... but I would guess that most of us can agree that Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger is a terrible song -- vapid lyrics, boring instrumentation, and lazy production. It is an archetype of overly-commercialized pop music. But then I heard the arrangement below from Project RnL. Some of the guys in this band are behind Beat Scholar. What an incredible difference! The song now has soul and passion. Its harmonically interesting. It changes from section to section. And they so wisely omitted the soul-cringing whistling intro from the original song. I'm grateful to these guys for replacing that song in my head with this amazing rendition. That feat alone is worth the $50 for Beat Scholar. Alas, they didn't change the awful lyrics. 3
Paul_in_wales Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Back down to $49 - not sure for how long. A nice thing with this is can map the drum hits to whatever notes we want and use that to trigger other plugins/hardware for drums and melodic. 2
Michael A.D. Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Besides the cool interface (a great way to interpret/create beats!), Beat Scholar comes with GREAT sounds and grooves. If you like percussion that can border at times on being melodic, then Beat Scholar is highly recommended! 1
Brian Lawler Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 I just installed it for a test spin. They don't promote the demo on their site very well, but there is one. Download the installer and skip authorization to get 14 days.
