simon Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) https://soundparticles.com/products/air-music-edition it seems to me that this is just a lowpass eq ....I like that Sound Particles are doing something a bit different but really, there must be more to it that that ? chris.r Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I think it's to add "air" to your recording.. the lowpass is only for control the air added.
LittleStudios Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 After messing with it and reading the description, it's to simulate distance. Basically it's a low pass filter and gain control. Nothing special. Seeing that it's free, the only loss is drive space. 1
antler Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I think the uniqueness is that it calculates an accurate filter and attenuation through air based on the distance in feet.
chris.r Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 (edited) I would have hoped it added some subtle ambiance for better, more true effect. That's what I thought the 'air' was there for. Edited November 9, 2022 by chris.r
user905133 Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Quote I still recall doing a presentation at Paramount (Technicolor) and having a user ask if Sound Particles applied Equalization (EQ) based on distance. Although Sound Particles didn’t have this feature, that idea lingered in my mind, especially for passing-by sounds. Later on, when we created the Doppler plugin, we decided to add it – having the exact frequency response you get from distance attenuation. We liked the result so much, we decided to create a specific plugin for it, and “Air | Music Edition” was born Enjoy! And if you have any question or suggestion, don’t hesitate to contact us. We REALLY love to receive feedback from our users ^^^ is from the manual.
