Grem Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 That is a unique design they have there. If it really works as advertised I can see this getting popular.
Fleer Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 Yeah, same feeling here. Is this is good for voice and guitar, I might as well get it. 1
Grem Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I was thinking as you sit around just jamming you could just let it ride. For those doing interviews.. no brainer? 1
boxed Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 When did SSL ever make microphones? This has all the looks of a rebadged OEM product mass produced in the Far East. 1 1
Philip G Hunt Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 This looks similar to telephone conference mics that I used to use in the 1990s . We had them in our company for our weekly telephone meetings with the US. The sound quality of those mics was not great. If SSL have upgraded this system and added a post mic processing phase, this might be interesting. However, my worry would be too much room bleed and background noise, especially as you wouldn't be able to get the mic close to your instrument or your mouth. That added distance might add too much extra noise. I'd be interested to hear feedback from anyone who has used it. 1

Tony Carpenter Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 The BIG issue I have with the idea of a USB mic is the quality (lack there of) of a lot of USB ports to this day, and controller for said ports. I’ll stick to proper mics with XLR ports and cables. I think the concept is a nice easy fix for some people.. but. Nope.
Fwrend Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 You could always order through Sweetwater for a demo... https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Connex--solid-state-logic-connex-quad-usb-conferencing-microphone
