Show Velocity is Disabled in the Piano Roll

Hi, I'm trying to use the Velocity in the Piano Roll but the option to Show Velocity and Show Velocity tails in the Drum Grid is disabled (is light grey, doesn't work).

 

I'm using Sonar Platinum. 

 

Any idea why this is happening?

Those options apply only if the Controller pane is hidden so velocity tails are overlaid on the notes pane/drum grid.

Thanks David! You fixed my problem. It's usually the simplest things...

And no, I didn't know that. I've been out of producing music for a while and I think I'm a bit outdated. 

Should I download and install this new version? Recommended?

Absolutely recommended. The UI is largely unchanged so you will be right at home immediately.  See release notes for all the new features that have been added; the list is impressive. You'll love it.
