The developer brand Fazertone (founded by Victor Lewis in 2020) has released a new free plugin, the Comp 76, a compressor effect that promises to reproduce all the analog warmth of a famous pedal, uses the same neural network technology that its other pedal emulations present.  Fazertone offers two other free plugins: The Klone & Phaser 74.

Fazertone and its AI-powered plugins: Fusing the fascination with old equipment and a love of state-of-the-art DSP algorithms, the first step was to approach analog emulation in a new direction: using machine learning to directly replicate the complex and warm sound of analog audio.

The Comp76 plugin is based on a famous, legendary, classic compressor pedal from the 70s (MXR Dyna Comp*), which has become a permanent accessory in many pedalboards to reinforce the signal, match the tone with a little more sustain, or give you that powerful explosive sound when propelled to the maximum. And there's a good reason for the popularity of this pedal: instead of spending hours looking for the right attack/release/ratio combination, you can rely on the fact that this is the equipment that has stood the test of time as the perfect match for guitar and bass.

MXR Dyna Comp  - First manufactured in the 1970s and became "a Nashville standard." It is frequently copied by other builders and hobbyists. MXR filed for bankruptcy in 1984, but Jim Dunlop subsequently purchased the MXR brand, and has continued to manufacture this pedal (and various variations of it) to the present day.

So, all you need is to add it to your ringtone stack, adjust the 'Sensitivity' knob and 'Output' volume to taste, and you're good to go. If you push the Sensitivity control to the max you will get a magnificent long sustain, with strong percussion attacks, or you can only use it with restraint and add just a little of this processor to match the "game dynamics". But also the developer adds the knobs: 'Input, Output and Mix' that give a little more versatility to this guitar pedal type effect.

In addition, with the neural network you will get all the magic of the analog envelope tracker, along with a small touch of saturation that is present in the original circuit.
