Why Do Keyboard Shortcuts Keep Resetting?

So I've been getting more and more used to the switch from Sonar Platinum to Cakewalk Bandlab, but I'm running into a really baffling bug(?) where my keyboard shortcuts keep resetting themselves, or at least some of them. I know for a fact that the "E" key used to toggle all effects on and off in Sonar Platinum, but it's completely unassigned in Cakewalk, so I go into my preferences > keyboard shortcuts and assign it, but whenever I close out and come back or go to another project or something, it unassigns itself and I have to go through the hassle of doing it again just to toggle all of the effects on and off when I just want a quick dry listen while mixing or whatever. Same thing happens when I try to assign ctrl+shift+S to "Save As". What's the deal here? Is this a bug or an intended feature? Is it perhaps tied to templates?

Are you using a workspaces?

Workspaces store Keyboard Shortcuts.  This means that, by default, loading a workspace, also loads the Keyboard Shortcuts stored in the workspace.

In the Workspace Manager, for any workspace that you use, under “Load from workspace”, deselect “Keyboard Shortcut”

This will prevent your Keyboard Shortcuts being overwritten when those workspaces are loaded.

Also there’s a effects toggle on the control bar. If it’s not there then once again this is due to using basic workspace. 

 You should watch tutorials # 5 and #9. That will bring you up to speed with a lot of the new features. Workspaces is a major change from Splat versions.

It might not be the cause in this case, but there are reports  of problems with unbinding shortcuts that are not related to Workspaces, see topic link below.

Goes back as far as february. When I reported this.

Ahh, I am using a workspace! Made it probably 10+ years ago so that'll probably be the culprit. Just another weird random functionality Bandlab must have added and said nothing about changing from the default.

Or you haven't been keeping up with the updates or the documentation thereof.
