abacab Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 (edited) If you think about it, you only need to deny yourselves 17 deals on $29 plugins to save up the $499 needed for the one and only Omnisphere 2. This is heresy on the "Deals" forum, I know... ? ... Edit to add deal: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/spectrasonics-omnisphere-2 Use code "LABOR" in the cart for the discount price. Deal ends September 7th. Edited September 3, 2022 by abacab 1 1 1 1
daveiv Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 What if I need all those 17 saturation plugins?? 1 2
Marc Cormier Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Makes me question about 73% of all buying decisions I’ve made in the last 5 years. 1 2
daveiv Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I mean, Omnisphere isn't that great. Its good, but it's not "everything you need" good, unless you're producing hip hop, radio pop, or something. 1
John Bradley Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 Yes, but the 17 saturation plugins I don’t need will be back up to their “regular” price of $49 or $129 or whatever if I don’t buy them right this very minute! So actually, I’m saving money…. 3
kevin H Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 If I deny myself 17 copies of Omnisphere 2, I can buy 292 $29 plugins…food for thought…hehe 2 6

When you start adding some of the amazing preset packs by third-party developers, it can become that great 2 1
antler Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 If I had neither and had to choose one, I'd probably go for Komplete first. Don't get me wrong - Omnisphere is brilliant, but getting Kontakt in addition to everything else in Komplete (e.g. Battery, Massive) can greatly transform your setup. 2

msmcleod Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 It took me a couple of years to save up enough to get Omnisphere... something else always seemed more important... but I don't regret it. It's one of the few software synths that to my ears sounds as good as, or actually better then a hardware rompler/sample-based synth. The only others that come into that category for me are the Korg collection, which are just exact clones of the hardware, and SynthMaster. 1 1
Fleer Posted September 1, 2022 Posted September 1, 2022 I started really appreciating Omnisphere when intertwined with Keyscape.

I bought it from Time+Space in the UK when they were still able to ship it worldwide. I saved a lot with currency exchange. Edited September 2, 2022 by Yan Filiatrault

Lionel Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Out of curiosity, what’s the cheapest price that Omnisphere has ever been?
Lionel Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 24 minutes ago, Fleer said: Probably 15% off at Musicians’ Friend. Good to know. Thanks!
