Metronome sounds will not change

I just downloaded Cakewalk today hoping it would be easier than cuebase.  I can't get past trying to change the metronome sound to woodblock. All I can hear is shhh shhh shhh whooshing sounds . Nothing I do makes any difference.

This is probably due to now having your sound device setup correctly.  Cakewalk, like Cubase, is not a simple program. You would want to start by reading some of the tutorials in the manual or viewing the tutorials in the tutorials part of the forum. Links below.
