Lee Rouse
I'm importing a multi-instrument midi song file into Cakewalk which I'll use as the basis of a backing track. Is there a quick way to transpose all the instrument tracks to a different key?
John Vere
Select All ( CTRL A ) Hold down CTRL again and click on the drum track to un select. You don't want to transpose drums or percussion. Now with all the music tracks selected press "N" to open the transpose dialogue and choose the amount. Be warned that transposing too far in either direction can result in some instruments sounding wrong or even some notes not sounding because you put them out of range. You might have to go into that instrument in PVR and transpose certain notes up or down an octave. I have a tutorial about working with downloaded midi files. 105- Importing MIDI files. https://youtu.be/lKDfq-hTb7U Edited August 20, 2022 by Cactus Music
