mme drivers glitching

so i downloaded the time stretch plugin paulxstretch and it made the mme drivers sound glitchy and distorted i uninstalled it and the problem still persists but the wasapi drivers sound fine, i cant record with my mic or audio interface without using mme so i don't know if there's something i'm missing or what but i want to get it working

MME is the worst driver model you can use, and is really there as a last resort. 

What audio interface do you have? WASAPI Shared should work with most things, but if it's a proper interface, then you'd use the official ASIO drivers for it.

This issue is starting to come up more often here. It seems users are trying to use Gaming and Podcasting input and output devices that are not designed for use with Audio DAW's like Cakewalk. These devices use plug and Play Windows drivers and do not support WASAPI drivers. 

The best solution is to purchase a proper audio interface and a proper XLR microphone. 

Second solution is only use your computers on board audio system which will support WASAPI. You use the jacks on your computer to access the audio system. 

Trying to use generic USB audio devices or Bluetooth will not go well, ever.
